Okay Sears, I'm done.  I've been sitting on hold for the past 30 minutes and I'm still waiting to speak with someone who can help us.
Our washing machine kicked the bucket over a month ago and we've been going back and forth with you ever since.
When we originally called - you said that someone would come out to fix it in two and a half weeks.  That's a long time to wait without laundry for a house of six people, but okay.
When the man showed, he spent twenty minutes on the machine and said, "I can't fix it.  I need to order a part."
     Then he left.
After many calls, we finally got him to come back to our home over TWO weeks later.  (We're up to a month without being able to do the laundry mind you.)
Finally coming back, the man went upstairs to our laundry room and banged around quite a bit.  Out of nowhere, directly below him - which is our kitchen area - there was a stream of water pouring from the ceiling...yes...the ceiling.
Running upstairs, I said, "Hey!  There's water coming down from whatever you're doing!"  He simply replied, "I don't know what to tell you.  It's not my fault."
     WHAT?!
I ran back down the stairs to get a bucket and the man followed me down a little while later, shaking his head.
    "Ma'am, there's nothing I can do.  I can't fix it."
It takes a LOT to make me cry.
There actually aren't a whole lot of people who have ever even seen me cry.  THIS guy was about to become one of them.  I was so mad and felt my eyes well up with tears but I immediately pulled them back.
    "Why can't you fix it?"
"Well, because I ordered the right part, but Sears sent me the wrong part."
Picking up the phone, I called you - Sears - and you said that there was "nothing you could do".  You said that he had to order another part and wait for it to come in, then have him come back another time to try and fix it...AGAIN.
Hearing the front door, I went to see what he was doing but he was gone.  He left.  Running back upstairs, I found our whole machine torn apart - piece by piece with OUR bath towels draped over the parts.  One of the towels was covered with dirt and grease...ruined.
When I told you about all of this Sears, again you said, that there was nothing you could do.  I would just have to wait for him to come back (whenever that would be) and try to fix it for a third time.  I don't really think that I WANT him to come back to "fix" it after everything that he's fixed so far.
So, here I am, waiting on hold...for you to tell me that regardless of the machine that we bought from you...regardless of the extra hundred and some odd dollars that we spent on the warranty guarantee that you promised was SO great...I sit...with a mountain of laundry from six people that's been growing for over a month...give or take an extra 45 minutes now that I've been sitting on hold.
I'll have to say that one of the most jaw dropping moments in all of this was when the last woman I spoke with asked me what the likelihood on a scale from one to ten would be that we would ever do business with you in the future.  I am wondering where "never in a million years" falls on your scale...
But yes, Sears...don't you worry...I'll continue to hold...

You poor thing! OMG! I have never seen anything like that torn apart washing machine in my whole life. Sears will replace that machine with a new one when you tell your story to the corporate headquarters. I did have a refrigerator that stopped cooling & I lost all my food in the frig. & freezer. My husband didn't stop calling until he knew the name of everyibe in charge at Sears Headquarters. This whole situation is out of control but if I were you I wouldn't deal with the local store since it's not working out. Well, just keep complaining until they resolve your problem. I think they will fix it or replace it, but in the interim, I think you'll have to go to the dreaded laundramat. Yuck! Thinking of you & just LOVE you stories.:) You're a sweetie for sure!:) P.S. Use your stern voice now!LOL

Oh Mrs. Colwell, We have been banging our head against the wall with them. One person said that they would try to further diagnose the problem with the machine, but we told them that there IS no machine...the guy took the whole thing apart so you can't look at it anymore to even tell what's wrong with it! All they keep saying is, "We understand your frustration, but all we can do is wait for him to come back and try to fix it again." It is truly crazy. We haven't found one person yet who can pass the common sense test and either have someone ELSE come out, or just replace it. Who knows when this guy will come back or what else he'll do! ugh. I have a bad feeling that it's still going to be a loooong time before we have a load of laundry running in this house. Nice warranty Sears.

P.S. Have them pay to repair your ceiling. That's going to cost a pretty penny! Also have them buy you some new towels! I know you can make them understand when you start crying on the other end of the phone. Luv ya Beatty!:)
And from the above post, that should've been*everyone." Sorry about the senior moment. I have alot of them lately!:)

They were good about the ceiling. They said that a different department would be calling within the next two weeks to discuss the water damage. I hope that will be better than what we've gotten with the machine.

You are Wonderful Mrs. Colwell. You couldn't have a "senior moment" because you're too young and cute! Thank You for all of your words of wisdom! You are Fantastic!!! Love You!!!

Oh Bea I would be FURIOUS! You need to call the manager of Sears and the BBB. Wayne said to call the tv stations and put pressure on them. This is just another horrible example of customer service now days. We still have not had our dining chairs replaced/fixed by Ashley furniture. So fed up with businesses now days. Hope you get this situation fixed asap.

I hadn't thought of the BBB Sherie! Thank You! We supposedly talked with the people who were just about as high up as you can get and the guy said the same thing. Until the repair guy says that he "can't" fix it, Sears won't replace it. I asked him about everything else and he just kept repeating that the guy had to come back out and try to fix it again. It makes absolutely zero sense. Why would they send the same guy back over and over? Note taken about Ashley furniture too! Thank You! We have learned from this experience, exactly what you said...if someone gives you a heads up regarding a company's lack of customer service, take heed. Love and Miss You!!!

You need to call your situation to the attention of the tv news crews and get all this rectified ASAP. That guy should have turned off the water supply to the washing machine before touching anything. He should have never used your towels to wipe up whatever he had on his hands! Unbelievable. Glad you took photos. The ceiling is just awful!
As for the laundry! Ma''s washboard and washtub should do for now!
Hang in there! G

Couldn't agree more Moses. It felt like the whole thing was a Saturday Night Live skit or something. I kept waiting for someone from Sears to say, "Yeah, you're pushing into the next month without a washer, your ceiling's raining and we know you're trying to pull your four kids out of the laundry room from trying to build a "cool new robot" from all of the parts, but we're going to put you on hold again...one moment please." I swear I want to scream. It looks like Ma's washboard and washtub are going to have to do for awhile. I'm just glad that there ain't no hole in the washtub. : ) Miss You!!! XO

Unbelievable, if you ever get off of hold be sure to let them know that they also lost my business and all of your facebook friends probably wouldn't buy a washer from them either. I you buy a new washer (from another company) I would recommend a LG brand. We have had good luck from ours. We got it at HHgregg. Also I would recommend Lowes for best customer service followed by Home Depot. Both looks to be much better than Sears. We have had excellent service from both of them with returns and such. Good luck to you I know that has to be beyond frustrating.

Thank You Shane! That's good to know. We've done business with Home Depot, Lowes and HHgreg in the past too and have had really good experiences as well. We'll know better from now on. My sister-in-law just gave me the good idea to call our local Sears store to see if they could help. The guy who answered said that their systems were down so I could try to call them back in a day or two. It's just pure comedy at this point.

I don't think the Sears Store Manager would accept this in his
house , do you? I think you should call the news hotline!

I don't know if the news would make them go any faster Mom. I wish they would just fix it so we could get on with the laundry. It's going to take a long time to catch up.

Rec'd this posting thru son-in-law, Bob Liddle. Was 1 hour away from purchasing dish washer from Sears. Read posting & comments, so ended up buying at hhgreg, where we got great service and saved $100 over Sears. Thanks!
